Engaging with your potential customers online is so important and beneficial to your brand. It allows you to connect with them by sharing resources, posts, and so much more. Don’t forget to brush up on these social media tips so you can prepare for your trade show. You can gain some insight to what your consumers want…and some followers!

1. Use the Official Trade Show Hashtags and Handles

The official hashtags used during the show allow people to see everything happening at that particular show at once. If you promote your booth with these hashtags, this will entice people who are currently at the show to come over and look and see what your booth has to offer.

2. Make a Contest Out of Social Media at Your Booth

Have people post a picture or tweet and use your company’s hashtag to enter for a chance to win a small gift package. This makes people start a buzz and promote your company online, all basically through word of mouth. For example, maybe if it is an amusement park company at a tradeshow for entertainment, you could have people enter to win two free tickets to your theme park in exchange for posting on their social media accounts.

3. Make Sure to be Posting Quality Content

If there are any type of presentations or demonstrations at your booth, show it off! Post what you guys are doing at the event to show you want people to come in and stop by and see your product or service. Create a specific hashtag that you want to use as a marketing campaign. Use engaging contents like polls, facts, and helpful resources to entice people. You could even live stream to engage people who aren’t at the event.

4. Engage With Other Booths at the Show

It never hurts to network and connect with the people around you in the same industry! Browse and engage their social media content to find out what kind of content they are posting on their accounts. Maybe even reach out to them by asking questions or responding to their social media accounts.

5. Know What Platform to Use at the Appropriate Time

It’s always a good idea to brush up on knowing what content works best for what type of social media platform. If you are posting more information and word-related content, Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are a great choice. If you are posting a photo or video of the event, Instagram and Snapchat is the better target audience. Have an idea of what content you want to post and an idea of what platforms of social media to use before you attend so once you’re there, everything can be posted easily.

Just like it is important to plan before you go to the event, it is vital to follow up on social media after your event. Go through all your notes and potential leads you made on your social media accounts and make sure to connect with them post-event. This will be beneficial to growing your online presence.
