Tips for Nailing your Trade Shows

Hammer with Nails

So you’ve got an upcoming trade show and you want this to be the best one yet. How do you go about it? We’ve got you covered.

Whether you’ve done this before or this is your first time out, we’ve got some tips you’re sure to find useful. Get the most out of your upcoming trade show with these 6 tips:

Make Your Display Table Attention Grabbing

You’d be surprised at how much you can achieve with little more than a tablecloth and a table runner. Get a tablecloth that complements your branding and enhances the elements you’ve put on it. This doesn’t need to be crazy — a black table cloth under white display items is as simple as can be but very eye-grabbing. If a tablecloth is supplied for your table, either bring your own still or use something like a table runner to add depth.

Presentation Boards Are A Must

Whenever space permits, it’s always a good idea to erect a stand-alone presentation board. Use the board to show how clients can benefit by engaging with you and your services. Be creative, be bold, and make it stand out. Branding should be obvious at a distance, and use pictures where possible.

Create an Easy Template of Your Company Name

Got wall space, but a tight budget? Use your trusty desktop publishing software of choice to print out a template of the company name. You can use the template along with bristle board, cardboard, or foam core to make a quick, affordable sign that you can hang on the wall behind your trade show display.

Arrange Your Table Properly

Take care while arranging your table. Larger items go to the rear, shorter items in front of those, and the smallest items at the front. The last thing you want is people struggling to see items on your table.

Use Video Displays

Video and / or slide presentations displayed on TV monitors can do wonders to attract attention and inform. Many stands and rack systems are available for mounting screens for trade shows. This equipment can also be easily rented. Your visitors will find this visually appealing, attractive, and hopefully, informative.

Have Plenty of Goodies

By “goodies” we mean giveaways, raffles, samples — anything that your audience can take home with them. Typical giveaways include small items such as business cards, pens, brochures, magnets, and anything else you can brand. Brochures and flyers should also be displayed on a rack to make them easy to find and take.

Another “goodie” can be to offer a raffle draw. People enter their contact details and go in for the chance to win something — a discount, a product, a service. Not only do they get to win something, you get to collect lead contact details.

Follow these tips, and your next trade show is sure to be a hit.
